Broadcast standard

Broadcast commercials.

Advertising at broadcast standard, for the brief that calls for a commercial and not a corporate video.

A commercial is advertising at broadcast standard, for the brief that calls for a commercial and not a corporate video. Lumen Narrative handles commercial video production in Toronto: concept, casting, locations, crew, art direction, grade and mix, with motion control in studio when the brief needs it.

Our founder's commercial credits include motion control studio work, where every camera move is programmed and repeated frame for frame across passes.

Plan the move, lock the variables.

A commercial set run with the discipline of a technical production: plan the move, lock the variables, shoot it right the first time.

Where commercials earn the airtime.

Sectors where a precise product or a public organization has to look exactly right on screen.

Commercial work, on set.

On both productions Lumen was technical producer and location manager, supplying the facilities, equipment, lighting and gear and running the technical side for the director. Credits are listed in full on each case study.

Commercial

The Ordinary

Studio campaign, motion control · Our role: technical producer, facilities, equipment and lighting
The problem
A brand that sells on precision. A campaign for it cannot be soft or approximate: every move has to be repeatable to the millimetre.
What we made
A studio campaign combining cinematic visuals with precise motion control: robotic camera moves repeated frame for frame across passes, and a look built in camera rather than rescued in post.
Why it works
Plan the move, lock the variables, shoot it right the first time. The same discipline we bring to a scientific animation or a KOL shoot.

Ontario Power Generation

Industrial sites · Our role: technical producer, equipment, lighting and site logistics
The problem
Photographing and filming inside active generating facilities, where access is controlled and schedules cannot bend around a crew.
What we made
One production delivering both photography and motion from OPG sites: site access, scheduling, crew and equipment logistics, and a running order built for a single visit.
Why it works
The discipline that gets a crew safely and productively through a generating station is the discipline that gets one through any restricted site.

Shoot it right the first time.

Every variable is planned before the crew arrives, and every cut is reviewed on the timeline.

01

Discovery

We learn your world: the product, the audience and what the film has to achieve. Papers, demo and time with your experts, so the facts are right before a word is written.

02

Story and script

A story a newcomer can follow from start to finish. You see the outline, then the script, and nothing is filmed or animated until you approve it.

03

Production

Filming, 3D, motion graphics and data visualization, planned around your schedule and your people's time, with style frames and early cuts along the way.

04

Revisions

Review rounds agreed up front. Your team leaves notes directly on the film in Frame.io, and every change is tracked until the cut is signed off.

05

Delivery

The master plus every version you need: website, social, events, sales and archive. Captions, transcripts and source files included.

06

Support throughout

One point of contact from the first call to final delivery, and after it. A new cutdown, an updated number, a version for the next event.

Commercial production, answered.

What do you deliver with a commercial?
Advertising at broadcast standard, for the brief that calls for a commercial and not a corporate video. That covers concept, casting, locations, crew, art direction, grade and mix, then every version the campaign needs, from broadcast and streaming spots to paid social cuts.
Can you shoot with motion control?
Yes, when the brief needs it. Motion control programs every camera move and repeats it frame for frame across passes, so product, lighting and effects line up exactly. Our founder's commercial credits include motion control studio work, including The Ordinary studio campaign.
What do you need from us to quote?
The audience, the goal, the deadline, and whatever technical material exists. A white paper, a deck, a product page or a fifteen minute scoping call is usually enough for us to scope the production and come back with a plan.
How does review and approval work?
Review rounds are agreed up front, so there are no surprises. You approve the outline and the script before anything is filmed or animated, then your team leaves notes directly on each cut in Frame.io, and every change is tracked until the film is signed off.
Is everything done in house?
Yes. Scripting, production, 3D, motion design, sound and finishing are handled under one roof, so there is one standard from first frame to final delivery and one point of contact from the first call to the last version.
Where are you based?
