Healthcare

Film production for healthcare and hospital systems.

Brand films, patient education and physician led campaigns for hospitals, health systems, physician organizations and digital health companies. Clinicians on camera, without losing their day.

Lumen Narrative is a Toronto film production company for healthcare: hospitals, health systems, physician organizations and digital health companies. We make brand films, patient education and physician led campaigns, planned around clinical schedules so the people who carry your credibility can appear on camera without losing a day of care.

Healthcare video production runs on trust. Real clinicians, not actors, filmed with the craft of a broadcast campaign, with every script, consent and location agreed before a crew arrives. Discovery, filming, motion, sound and finishing all happen under one roof.

From the ward to the foundation.

Every part of the health system speaks to someone different: patients, donors, physicians or a board.

01

Hospitals and health systems

Brand films, campaign content and leadership films that show the care, not only the building.

02

Physician and nursing organizations

Member and campaign films with real clinicians on camera, produced in a single controlled block.

03

Hospital foundations and fundraising

Donor and campaign films that make the case for support with the people who deliver the care.

04

Digital health and health tech

Product and launch films that make a technical device or platform clear to buyers and clinicians.

05

Clinics and specialty care

Patient education and procedure explainers that answer the questions patients ask before they arrive.

06

Public health campaigns

Campaign films and social cuts that carry one clear message to a broad audience, captioned as standard.

Healthcare film runs on trust and time.

Clinicians are busy, patients are protected and the location is a working hospital. These four constraints shape how we plan every shoot.

i.

Clinicians have no time

For the Ontario College of Family Physicians, each physician gave an hour. That hour produced a hero film, highlight pieces and a month of social content.

ii.

Patients and privacy come first

Consent is agreed before filming. No identifiable patient appears without a signed release, and clinical spaces are framed so nothing private is in shot.

iii.

Trust is the product

Real clinicians, not actors. The film earns credibility through the people in it, so the craft serves them and never upstages them.

iv.

Clinical spaces are restricted

Hospitals run on care schedules. We plan access, crew size and the running order around the unit, the same discipline we bring to restricted industrial sites.

Abstract iridescent glass discs

Physicians on camera, at their best.

Multi camera interview production built for people with no time to spare. Professional lighting, broadcast audio and teleprompter support where needed, so one controlled block captures several clinicians and every cut a campaign needs.

  • Multi camera interviews, lit and recorded to broadcast standard
  • Several physicians filmed in one controlled block
  • Hero film, highlight pieces and social cuts from the same setup
  • Full transcripts and captions for accessibility

Ontario College of Family Physicians

Physician films · KOL and leadership films
The problem
For World Family Doctor Day the College needed real physicians on camera, while asking as little time as possible of doctors who have none to spare.
What we made
A multi camera interview production that captured several physicians in one controlled block, cut into the main campaign films, physician highlight pieces and short social cuts, with full transcripts.
Why it works
One controlled production yielded an entire campaign. Each physician gave an hour, and it all stayed consistent because it came from the same setup.

HLTH

Hydrogen machine · Health technology
The problem
A hydrogen machine entering a market crowded with lookalike devices. What makes it different, hydrogen concentration, filtration and build quality, is invisible in a photograph.
What we made
The entire marketing package: hero visuals and the product film, the direct response advertising and masterclass creative that ran off it, and every cutdown the channels required.
Why it works
The film demonstrates the technical argument instead of asserting it, and the product looks the same everywhere a buyer meets it.

Planned around the clinic, approved at every gate.

One point of contact handles access, consent and approvals, so your team only joins where it matters.

01

Discovery

Your audience, your clinicians and your approval route. The facts are right before a word is written.

02

Script and sign off

Outline, then script, then approval from communications and clinical leads. Nothing is filmed before it.

03

Access and consent

Locations, unit schedules, releases and privacy agreed with your team before the crew arrives.

04

Production

A controlled shoot block, planned so each clinician gives as little time as possible.

05

Review on the timeline

Rounds agreed up front. Notes land on the frame in Frame.io and are tracked to close.

06

Delivery and every cut

Master, web, social and screen versions. Captions, transcripts and source files included.

Healthcare video production, answered.

How do you film in a hospital?
We plan around care. Before the shoot we agree locations, timing and crew size with your team, keep the equipment footprint small, and set a running order that keeps clear of patient areas and busy units. The same planning has taken crews through restricted sites such as Ontario Power Generation facilities.
How much physician time is needed?
Usually less than people expect. We film several clinicians in one controlled block with multi camera setups and teleprompter support where needed. For the Ontario College of Family Physicians, each physician gave an hour, and the College received a hero film, highlight pieces and a month of social content.
Do you handle patient consent?
Yes. Consent is planned as part of production. No identifiable patient appears without a signed release, releases follow your organization's own privacy and consent process, and clinical areas are framed so no private information is in shot.
Can you make patient education videos?
Yes. We script patient education in plain language, review it with your clinical team, and use motion graphics or 3D where a diagram explains more than a camera can. Captions and transcripts are included with every version.
Do you work across Canada?
Yes. Lumen Narrative is a healthcare film production studio based in Toronto, Ontario, working with hospitals, health organizations and health technology companies across Canada and the United States.
